Hard to know a price if the seller doesn't set a starting point. Otherwise, it's stupid NOT to bid low on an item with no floor.

Something is only worth what that person is willing to pay for it.

I think people are tiring of the over inflated prices....so they bid low.

If thats a noob offer to you, fine, but your just going to have to work harder to sell your wares I guess.

If a bid is too low.. dont sell. Calling people idiots and breaking the rules of the forums only makes you look bad.

In terms of fansites and numbers alone, GWG gets far fewer, so you should keep that in mind. At any time at GWonline, just for example, you'll see 200-300 people viewing the main forum, whereas here it's rare to get over 80. Not saying that's bad or anything, but you want sheer numbers when you're trying to sell something.

I wonder more about the intelligence of people who like to sell items for over 100k myself, but I guess I'm a "dum n00b" or somesuch for not liking inflation and price-gouging.

It's the nature of a market economy, if no-one wants to buy it at 100K it's not worth 100K.

What would actually be braindead would be to offer 100K when no-one else has shown an interest.

I don't need money unless I want to buy something, I'm settin' pretty nice now but it used to be when I needed money (say for the 15k armor) I'd sell whatever I could for the amount that I needed. If I needed 60k.

Heh...want a gold half-moon for 60k? Heheh...yeah...

Typically though I won't sell something for more than around 10-15k, just don't like too.

I'm personally tired of people advertising their items and not including a price. If they don't specify a price then I'm inclined to "bid" whatever I feel like. If 1000 is too low then that should have been specified...otherwise, no one has the right to complain.

i have NO problem with people that start facing the fact that more farming lowers the demand of anyone in that items, and so the price should go down.
its not the "braindead" people that are stupid, its the farmers that think their prices are stable and realistic.

well if they dont put a price i guess they just mean anything over what the merchant is willing to give them, anything over that they cant complain about

but you cant reall blame people for not leaving prices because no everyone is a "pro" trader and sometimes people dont get replys in the PC topics, or maybe some people are worried they will make their starting price too high and they wont sell it... who knows

Unless the seller has specified a starting bid, no bid can be considered idiotic.

When you post stuff like this you shouldn't expect 100k bids.

no I have never spent over 10k for anything in the game from another person. I have spend up to 35K from a NPC. and that was for the Superior Vigor and Absorption runes. Beyond that, anyone spending over 100k (max you can hold on person) are just fools, and they are now discovering the truth of things. people selling stuff for those kinds of prices are running out of suckers to con. Thus they are being FORCED to lower their prices for things to reasonable levels, or quit selling all together (even better). Classic supply and demand curve. This is what efficient gold sinks do to an economy. when gold is pulled out of a game, it becomes more valuable, and thus is able to buy more for the gold piece. Again I always compare to a yen and a dollar. Buying a loaf a bread cost 20,000 yen, but only $5.00 in the US. Same item value, but different value of currency.

This is what is happening to the market in guildwars. Because gold has been effectively been pulled from the game with NPCs, gold is getting harder to get, and becoming worth more in the game. Thus prices are dropping for items. Also people can look at fair market prices at the rune and dye traders. The next step is the weapon crafter gauging upgrades and base value of weapons. That is the next step. But it is becoming clear people are finally becoming aware when something is a unreasonable price, and when some things are a bargain. Congratulations we have come a long way to get to this point.

I give a firm Thank you to ArenaNet for trying to make the game a better place to play without the scammers and inflators ruining it for others. I'm more then happy to sell things to a NPC rather then see it getting sold to some poor unsuspecting person for more then its truly worth.

You see the little thing in the item description that says Value. I refuse to pay 100 times what that says for the item. Rediculous...plain and simple.

Thats hilarious.

nice bow. you know had I seen your no idiots please. I would have offered 50g and gone up in increments of 5g just to piss you off.

how much did you think you would get for that anyway?

and I know the reason you didnt specify a starting amount, buy out amount etc is because you were hoping to sell it for a rediculous price and rip someone off.

how lame.
